Our woods are ancient with the valleys and rivers being formed by glaciers melting over 5,000 years ago. The Elves first colonised Alkrington in Anglo-Saxon times. They are small, shy creatures of humanoid form but with supernatural powers. Blessed with immortality, they are mostly good natured creatures unless you manage to upset one….

Some of the British Elves were stowaways on the Mayflower when North America was colonised. Since then they seem to have gained fame by helping Santa Claus despite having developed very mischievous habits.

The Alkrington fairies have colonised their own part of the nature reserve known as Fairy Wood. Like the Elves they have magical powers and typically love dancing and singing at night when no humans are present.
